About Us

Little Acorns Nursery Ltd is situated in the grounds of De Lacy Academy. The premises were opened in 2003. It is approximately 2 miles from Pontefract and within easy access of both the A1 and M62. Little Acorns Nursery Ltd has been jointly owned by Samantha Laing and Lauren Jarratt since September 2010.  

Children are accommodated in a purpose-built Nursery, which is situated in a quiet corner of the grounds with its own 30-space car park. A security fence, alarm and Bio-metric entry system ensures safe and secure surroundings for all users.  

We are registered with OfSted and are members of the National Day Nurseries’ Association. Copies of the latest OfSted report are available from the nursery or online.  

We are insured by Dot to Dot nursery insurance, specialists in this type of insurance. A copy of this is displayed in the nursery.  

Monday – Friday 8am-6pm  

Special arrangements can be made for a 7.30am start. An extra charge applies for this service. 

The nursery closes for specified days over the Christmas Holidays, public bank holidays and staff training days.  

We offer to collect your child/children from school up to their 9th birthday. There is an additional charge for this service. When in Nursery, the children join Kanga's Kids. There are several schools we currently pick-up from within the area. Any queries, please enquire.
